# List Stack Snapshots

> Lists the snapshots of a stack, newest first. Each one groups the snapshots of every member that has data.

Returns the stack snapshots, newest first. Needs the `stacks:read` scope when called with an API key.

**stack\_id** `string` *required*

The stack ID.

**workspace\_id** `string`

The workspace the stack belongs to. Required for a workspace member acting on a stack they do not own.

### Response

**id** `string`

The stack snapshot ID.

**stack\_id** `string`

The stack ID.

**reason** `string`

Why it was taken: `manual`, `update` (a safety snapshot before updating to a newer template version) or `delete` (taken when the stack and its members were deleted).

**date** `string`

When it was taken.

**size** `string`

Total size, human readable.

**members** `object[]`

The snapshot of each member that has data: `resource_type` (`application` or `database`), `resource_id` and `snapshot_id`.

**closed** `boolean`

`true` when the stack runs a [closed template](https://docs.vertracloud.app/templates/use/closed-templates.md): the snapshot cannot be downloaded, only restored.

### Errors

| Status | Code | When |
| - | - | - |
| 404 | `STACK_NOT_FOUND` | The stack does not exist or belongs to another account. |
