# Web Analytics Summary: Is My Site Fast and Healthy?

> The Summary shows one sentence about your site and four numbers: visitors, requests, response time and error rate, each with its change.

The Summary answers "is my site healthy?" in one sentence and four numbers, so you can check in a few seconds without reading a chart. It is the first sub-tab of **Analytics** and is available on every plan.

Same data through the API: [Application traffic](https://docs.vertracloud.app/api-reference/endpoint/apps/analytics/traffic.md). The `summary` field has the totals.

## The status sentence

At the top, a plain-language sentence summarizes the selected period, for example that your site is fast, or that it is slower than usual or returning errors. It is based on the two numbers that matter most to visitors: how long they wait and how often a request fails.

## The four numbers

| Number | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Visitors** | Distinct visits in the period. One person opening ten pages in a row is one visit. |
| **Requests** | Every HTTP request your app received: pages, images, scripts and API calls. It is always larger than visitors. |
| **Response time (p95)** | How long the slowest 5% of requests took to start answering. See below. |
| **Error rate** | The share of requests that ended with a server error (5xx). |

With [Compare](https://docs.vertracloud.app/web-analytics/compare.md) on, each number also shows how much it changed against the previous period.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Why p95 and not the average?** The average hides the bad moments: a few very slow requests barely move it. p95 says "95 of every 100 requests were at least this fast", so it shows what your unluckiest visitors feel. [Performance](https://docs.vertracloud.app/web-analytics/performance.md#what-a-percentile-is) explains percentiles in full.

## Traffic chart

Below the numbers, a chart shows requests over time. The step (minutes, hours or days) is chosen from the period, and a dashed line shows the previous period when Compare is on. To look closer, pick a shorter period in the bar.

## Slowest pages

A short list of the routes that took longest to answer. This block is part of [Performance](https://docs.vertracloud.app/web-analytics/performance.md), so on Starter it appears as an invitation with sample data instead of your own. Everything else in the Summary is yours on every plan.

## When there is nothing to show

* **No traffic yet:** the panel says so instead of showing zeros. Open your site to generate the first request and wait a few minutes.
* **Web publishing off:** turn it on in **Network** to start measuring.
* **Sampled data:** a notice appears when the figures are estimates; see [Sampling and delay](https://docs.vertracloud.app/web-analytics/sampling-and-delay.md).
