Web Analytics is the Analytics tab of every app published to the web. It shows how many people visit, which pages they open, how fast your app answers and which requests fail, with nothing to install and no code to change.

Where the data comes from

Every request to your app passes through Vertra’s edge network before it reaches your container, on both the *.vertraweb.app subdomain and your custom domains. The edge measures each request as it goes by: the route, the status, the country, the device and how long each step took. Web Analytics reads those measurements for you. This has three consequences:
  • No script, no cookie, no banner. Your pages stay exactly as they are.
  • Bots and scanners are included. They hit your app like anyone else, so the numbers match what your container really handled. You can filter them out.
  • Only web traffic counts. An app without web publishing turned on shows an empty state until the first request arrives. Databases and background workers have no Analytics tab.

Two levels: summary and details

Summary

One sentence and four numbers to answer “is my site healthy?”. For everyone.

Details

Traffic, errors, performance and requests, for when you want to investigate.
The tab has five sub-tabs:

Controls shared by every sub-tab

  • Period bar: 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or a custom range from the calendar. How far back you can go depends on the plan; see History and plans.
  • Compare: draws the previous period as a dashed line and shows the change in each number. See Compare periods.
  • Filters: click a country, route, status or any other value and every panel narrows to it. See Traffic and filters.

What to know before trusting a number

  • With high traffic the figures are estimates, and the Requests table is a sample. See Sampling and delay.
  • Data refreshes about every 5 minutes and can take a few minutes to appear, so the last minutes of the chart can still grow.
  • Vertra does not store anything about your visitors, only the totals of your site. See Privacy.
