A share gives someone access to one private file through a page at https://vertracloud.app/share/<token>, without credentials and without making the file public. Unlike a temporary link, a share can be revoked and limited. The page shows the file name and size, asks for the password when there is one, and offers a download button. Each download creates a short-lived link and is counted atomically.
The response includes remaining_downloads and has_password. Revoking a share (Revoke share) stops the page immediately.
A public file is reachable by its URL no matter what. The response flags it with object_is_public: true; make the file private if the share must be the only way in.
A wrong password answers BLOB_SHARE_PASSWORD_INVALID (rate-limited per IP), an exhausted limit BLOB_SHARE_EXHAUSTED, and an expired or revoked share BLOB_SHARE_NOT_FOUND. See Create share and List shares.
